As a queer trans person I know all too well how difficult it can be to navigate our healthcare system and find appropriate affirming care. I hope to provide the kind of care that makes every person feel valued and heard. Let’s work together to reach your health goals!

Official bio:

James Lauren (he/they) is a queer trans person and a nurse practitioner working in Manhattan and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He provides general primary care services and also specializes in LGBTQ+ health including initiation and maintenance of gender affirming hormone therapy, PrEP and PEP, sexual health, affirming PAP tests, HIV screening and management, anal health, and general primary and preventive healthcare.

James graduated with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 from New York University, and worked as an RN in New York City for over 8 years. James got his Master’s of Science in Nursing from Hunter College in 2019. James was a fellow in the first cohort of The Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship in LGBTQ+ Health at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. They were one of two fellows chosen from a competitive pool of applicants nationwide.

James is currently enrolled in the Hunter College Doctor of Nursing Practice program, with expected graduation in 2025.
